Dear respected Mother, I see the whole Cosmos in you, and you in me. Although you are the mother of all species, as humans, we are capable of conversing intimately with you, capable of seeing you and understanding you. We know that you want us to live in such a way that in each moment of our daily lives we can produce the energies of Mindfulness, Peace, Solidity, and Love. We vow to obey your Wish and respond to your love. We have the conviction that if we keep producing these wholesome energies, we will be able to help reduce suffering on Earth, especially the suffering caused by war, hunger, and illness. We will learn to appreciate and enjoy our own presence and the presence of the Cosmos. With these wholesome energies we can help reduce the number of natural disasters like floods, storms, earthquakes and tsunamis.~T h i c h N h a t H a n h, Intimate Conversation with Mother Earth

“CHILDREN” (by Kahlil Gibran)
www.youtube.com
“Your children are not your children.
They are the sons and daughters of Life’s longing for itself.
They come through you but not from you, And though they are with you, yet they belong not to you.
You may give them your love but not your thoughts. For they have their own thoughts.
You may house their bodies but not their souls, For their souls dwell in the house of tomorrow, which you cannot visit, not even in your dreams.
You may strive to be like them, but seek not to make them like you. For life goes not backward nor tarries with yesterday.

You are the bows from which your children as living arrows are sent forth.
The archer sees the mark upon the path of the infinite, and He bends you with His might that His arrows may go swift and far. Let your bending in the archer’s hand be for gladness; For even as he loves the arrow that flies, so He loves also the bow that is stable.”

My God, I pray better to You by breathing.I pray better to You by walking than by talking.”Thomas Merton,Dialogues with Silence.

up there is prayer without words, surrounded by spirits of caring”~ Harold Littlebird Old Man For His People by Harold Littlebird

Meditation is the dissolution of thoughts in Eternal awareness or Pure consciousness without objectification, knowing without thinking, merging finitude in infinity.” Swami Sivananda quotes

[1]‘When you pray,’ it has been wisely said by an Orthodox writer in Finland, ‘you yourself must be silent. . . . You yourself must be silent; let the prayer speak.’ To achieve silence: this is of all things the hardest and the most decisive in the art of prayer. Silence is not merely negative — a pause between words, a temporary cessation of speech — but, properly understood, it is highly positive: an attitude of attentive alertness, of vigilance, and above all of listening. The hesychast, the person who has attained hesychia, inner stillness or silence, is par excellence the one who listens. He listens to the voice of prayer in his own heart, and he understands that this voice is not his own but that of Another speaking within him.

[2]the path of inner prayer is exactly indicated in St John the Baptist’s words about the Messiah: ‘He must increase, but I must decrease’(John 3:30). It is in this sense that to pray is to be silent. ‘You yourself must be silent; let the prayer speak’ — more precisely, let God speak. True inner prayer is to stop talking and to listen to the wordless voice of God within our heart; it is to cease doing things on our own, and to enter into the action of God.

[3] To pray is to stand before God, to enter into an immediate and personal relationship with him; it is to know at every level of our being, from the instinctive to the intellectual, from the sub-to the supra-conscious, that we are in God and he is in us.~Bishop Kallistos-Ware

“We must move beyond the level of mental prayer: talking to God, thinking
about God, asking God for our needs. We must go to the depths, to where the
spirit of Jesus himself is praying in our hearts, in the deep silence of his union
with our Father in the Holy Spirit.”Laurence Freeman, OSB, Christian Meditation, Your Daily Practice

“Meditation, sitting in silence, is a prayer of faith. You totally let go of being in charge, which is different from what most prayer is about, because as long as we use words, we are in control. Most of us as Christians have been trained that prayer is talking to God. We feel the responsibility to do something, to be active when we pray, but in meditation, you enter it with the idea that you will let the Spirit transform you. You don’t talk, you listen.” – Sister Barbara Hazzard

He said: “Go out and stand on the mountain before the Lord, for the Lord is about to pass by.” Now there was a great wind,so strong that it was splitting mountains and breaking rocks in pieces before the Lord, but the Lord was not in the wind; and after the wind an earthquake, but the Lord was not in the earthquake, and after the earthquake a fire, but the Lord was not in the fire; and after the fire a sound of sheer silence—and then there came a voice to him that said, “What are you doing here Elijah?” —I Kings: 19:11-13

“Move beyond words into wordless contemplation. Prayer in its higher form meant not simply moving beyond words; it meant the ‘stripping away of thoughts.” By Christopher A. Hall Worshiping with the Church Fathers

“In returning and rest you shall be saved; in quietness and in trust shall be your strength.” Isaiah 30:15
Thus the beginning of the spiritual journey makes use of the cataphatic path of seeing God in the good things of his good creation and in vocal prayer, but the end of this journey is to come into deep union with God through the more advanced apophatic path of finding God in renunciation of the unnecessary pleasures of this world and in wordless mystical prayer.~Fr. Steven Scherrer
Once one has gone a certain way, seeing God in all things, in the good things of his creation, to go farther, it is the apophatic, ascetical-mystical path—the path of renunciation and silence, the path of silent mystical prayer—which will take us to the top of the mountain. ~Fr. Steven Scherrer

We also need to hold in our memory the good things, the gifts that God has given us; we need to be attentive to the positive signs that come from God, and remember these. Therefore, we are speaking about a kind of prayer that the Christian tradition calls “mental prayer.” We are more familiar with vocal prayer, and naturally the mind and heart must also be present in this prayer, but today we are speaking about a meditation that does not involve words, but that is rather a making contact of our mind with the heart of God.

And here Mary is a true model. The Evangelist Luke repeats numerous times that Mary, for her part, “kept all these things, pondering them in her heart.” She keeps them; she does not forget. She is attentive to all that the Lord has said and done to her, and she ponders; that is, she makes contact with diverse things — she dwells deeply upon them in her heart.Pope Benedict XV, Aug. 17 catechesis at his papal residence in Castel Gandolfo.

So how has God wired you for listening? Does a sunset leave you breathless? The still, small voice is speaking—can you hear it? Does the swell of an anthem bring tears to your eyes? The still, small voice is speaking—can you hear it? Does the cry of a child in need call to you? The still, small voice is speaking—can you hear it? Linda Douty.

“Contemplative Prayer immerses us into the silence of God. How desperately we in the modern world need this wordless baptism!Progress in intimacy with God means progress toward silence.”Richard Foster

A bare impersonal hush is now my mind,
A world of sight clear and inimitable,
A volume of silence by a Godhead signed,
A greatness pure, virgin of will.

Once on its pages Ignorance could write
In a scribble of intellect the blind guess of Time
And cast gleam-messages of ephemeral light,
A food for souls that wander on Nature’s rim.

But now I listen to a greater Word
Born from the mute unseen omniscient Ray:
The Voice that only Silence’s ear has heard
Leaps missioned from an eternal glory of Day.

All turns from a wideness and unbroken peace
To a tumult of joy in a sea of wide release.
~Sri Aurobindo The Word of The Silence

truth is too simple for words
before thought gets tangled up in nouns and
verbs
there is a wordless sound
a deep breathless sigh
of overwhelming relief
to find the end of fiction
in this ordinary
yet extraordinary moment
when words are recognized
as words
and truth is recognized
as everything else~Nirmala

In meditation, or deep wordless prayer, the mind can grow so still that not only do all thoughts cease, but even the subtle movements of awareness grow still. And then, like that glacial mountaintop, the world comes into such peaceful clarity. The strange thing is that in that cool, aloof state, a bubbling warmth and sense of life begins to rise and permeate the body and you grow giddy, wanting to smile or even laugh out loud. You expect such stillness to be frozen, almost lifeless, but you discover a blissful vitality and warmth instead.~Ivan Granger

“You have been telling the people that this is the Eleventh Hour, now you must go back and tell the people that this is the Hour. And there are things to be considered . . .

Where are you living?
What are you doing?
What are your relationships?
Are you in right relation?
Where is your water?
Know your garden.
It is time to speak your Truth.
Create your community.
Be good to each other.
And do not look outside yourself for the leader.”

Then he clasped his hands together, smiled, and said, “This could be a good time!”

“There is a river flowing now very fast. It is so great and swift that there are those who will be afraid. They will try to hold on to the shore. They will feel they are torn apart and will suffer greatly.

“Know the river has its destination. The elders say we must let go of the shore, push off into the middle of the river, keep our eyes open, and our heads above water. And I say, see who is in there with you and celebrate. At this time in history, we are to take nothing personally, Least of all ourselves. For the moment that we do, our spiritual growth and journey comes to a halt.

“The time for the lone wolf is over. Gather yourselves! Banish the word struggle from you attitude and your vocabulary. All that we do now must be done in a sacred manner and in celebration.

“We are the ones we’ve been waiting for.”

And the multitude of them that believed were of one heart and of one soul
The Bible Acts 4:32

The time of the lonely wolf is over.
Gather yourselves!
The Elders,Oraibi, Arizona,Hopi Nation

At the beginning of this cycle of time, long ago, the Great Spirit came down and He made an appearance and He gathered the peoples of this earth together ‹ they say on an island which is now beneath the water ‹ and He said to the human beings, “I’m going to send you to four directions and over time I’m going to change you to four colors, but I’m going to give you some teachings and you will call these the Original Teachings and when you come back together with each other you will share these so that you can live and have peace on earth, and a great civilization will come about.”

But first, let us join hands and pray.
Starleaf, SHINNECOCK

When we are linked by the power of prayer, we, as it were hold each
other’s hand as we walk side by side along a slippery path; and thus
by the bounteous disposition of charity, it comes about that the
harder each one leans on the other, the more firmly we are riveted
together in brotherly love.
(St Gregory the Great, `Wisdom of the Saints’)

To come together and Pray with ONE MIND, ONE HEART, ONE FOCUS OF PURPOSE. The more we pray in community, in our groups, the better it is for all. I hope we can be connected through the ceremonies and rituals. It is been asked, to everybody. Be together like the fingers of the hand.
~Grandfather Vidal

Which brings me to re-emphasize the need for a concentrated FOCUS on a specific NOW, the NOW when we will all be merging our higher selves in generating the Light, and when we will offer our gratitude to our Mother.
~Swami Shraddhananda for The Gaia Minute

The present efforts are insufficient at this level of existence (m
ortal/material level). MASS MOVEMENT involving few thousand people who are praying
SIMULTANEOUSLY (at the same time in this space-time continuum dimension) is what is required to channelize the healing force. At present, these efforts are getting “scattered” because on non-simultaneous occurrences.

2. To explain why we need this SIMULTANEOUS effort, may I give an example please. Basically the process is very roughly similar to that of focusing a light beam. To get a TIGHT FOCUS, we need simultaneous prayers, the more the number, the greater is the power.
Evolving our consciousness is not something we do only for ourselves – it is something we also do for others…for all others, and for the earth. Because we open up and let our body and mind feel the ties with others and with nature, we change ourselves, and change others around us. When a sufficient number of people pray or meditate together, or find another path to evolve their consciousness, other people are affected as well. More sick people heal, divorce and suicide rates drop, crime and violence diminish. When many people open up, a powerful force develops – a leap of consciousness takes place…

[1] When you meditate with others you can be of real help to them, and they can be of real help to you
[2]If both of you are meditating together, your aspiration and even your very presence will inspire and lift up that person.
[3] If ten persons meditate together and they are all in a very high state of consciousness, then it is like ten persons on one side in a tug-of-war against ignorance. Since ignorance is only one person, then naturally it will lose the tug-of-war. If you are meditating at home alone and are fighting against ignorance all by yourself, then you may soon become exhausted and give up. But if you can meditate with others, it becomes much easier.
[4]If twenty persons are sitting together, they have to feel that they are only one vessel. They are not individuals; they have become one vessel, and they are one in their receptivity. But each one has to feel that it is his obligation and responsibility to do his part. You cannot feel, “Oh, since we are all one, let him meditate for me.”
Sri Chinmoy

If we meditate together as a family, a community, a city, and a nation, we will be able to identify the causes of our suffering and find ways out. . . . For us to achieve results, our enlightenment has to be collective.

The love of God, unutterable and perfect,
flows into a pure soul the way that light
rushes into a transparent object.
The more love that it finds, the more it gives
itself; so that, as we grow clear and open,
the more complete the joy of heaven is.
And the more souls who resonate together,
the greater the intensity of their love,
and, mirror-like, each soul reflects the other.

~Dante Alighieri The love of God, unutterable and perfect

The Imaginal Cell Story

The caterpillar’s new cells are called ‘imaginal cells.’
They are so totally different from the caterpillar cells
that his immune system thinks they are enemies… and gobbles them up.

But these new imaginal cells continue to appear. More and more of them!
Pretty soon, the caterpillar’s immune system
cannot destroy them fast enough.
More and more of the imaginal cells survive.
And then an amazing thing happens!

The little tiny lonely imaginal cells start to clump together
into friendly little groups.
They all resonate together at the same frequency,
passing information from one to another.
Then, after awhile, another amazing thing happens!

The clumps of imaginal cells start to cluster together!
A long string of clumping and clustering imaginal cells,
all resonating at the same frequency,
all passing information from one to another there inside the chrysalis.

Then at some point,
the entire long string of imaginal cells
suddenly realizes all together
that it is something different from the caterpillar.
Something new! Something wonderful!
…and in that realization
is the shout of the birth of the butterfly!

Since the butterfly now “knows” that it is a butterfly,
the little tiny imaginal cells
no longer have to do all those things individual cells must do.
Now they are part of a multi-celled organism—
A FAMILY who can share the work.

Each new butterfly cell can take on a different job—
There is something for everyone to do.
And everyone is important.
And each cell begins to do just that very thing it is most drawn to do.
And every other cell encourages it to do just that.

A great way to organize a butterfly!”

We have spent many lifetimes not able to recognize your presence as the Pure Land, as the Kingdom of God, as the most wondrous home that we have. We have run after a distant Promised Land, in heaven or in the future. This has caused us and you much suffering. Tonight as we touch the Earth, we let go and offer you and our ancestors our true presence. We have arrived. You are our home, our only home.
..
You have been calling to us, and some of us have heard your pain. You have been asking us for many lifetimes whether you can count on us. Tonight, with palms joined and with one heart, we say “yes, Mother, you can count on us.” We shall practice for you and for all our ancestors so that joy, peace and harmony will become possible again. Please accept our offerings of incense, flowers, fruit, tea, and our love. Yes Mother, we will be faithful to you.~ dharmaputra,New Year Prayer to Mother Earth

As well expect Nature to answer to your human values as to come into your house and sit in a chair. The economy of nature, its checks and balances, its measurements of competing life – all this is its great marvel and has an ethic of its own.

Rain! whose soft architectural hands have power to cut stones, and chisel to shapes of grandeur the very mountains.
Henry Ward Beecher

Sunshine is delicious, rain is refreshing, wind braces us up, snow is exhilarating; there is really no such thing as bad weather, only different kinds of good weather.
John Ruskin

[1] This rainy evening the wind is restless.
I look at the swaying branches and ponder over the greatness of all things.
[2] Thou raisest thy waves vainly to follow thy lover. O sea, thou lonely bride of the storm.
[3] God’s great power is in the gentle breeze, not in the storm.
[4] This world is the world of wild storms kept tame with the music of beauty.
[5] The storm is like the cry of some god in pain whose love the earth refuses.
[6] Clouds come floating into my life from other days no longer to shed rain or usher storm but to give colour to my sunset sky.
[7]The storm of the last night has crowned this morning with golden peace.
[8]The raindrops kissed the earth and whispered,–”We are thy homesick children, mother, come back to thee from the heaven.”
[9]Find your beauty, my heart, from the world’s movement, like the boat that has the grace of the wind and the water.
[10]Stray birds of summer come to my window to sing and fly away. And yellow leaves of autumn, which have no songs, flutter and fall there with a sigh.
[11] The poet wind is out over the sea and the forest to seek his own voice.

~Rabindranath Tagore, Stray Birds
